Network Mapping

Network design and mapping is the most challenging and important step before starting the setup and installation of a network. Network design is considered phase zero, or the study phase, of network services. This is because, before implementing the infrastructure and carrying out the installation of the network, a thorough review, physical planning, needs assessment, and feasibility study must be done. The purpose of setting up the network, the network topology, the paths the network cables will take, the locations of nodes or systems, the other equipment working within the network, their physical placement, and many other foundational (or passive) aspects must be considered in the network design phase. In this context, consulting services for network setup, design, and implementation are crucial and are a top priority for NEC Technical.

Network Design Feasibility and Analysis

Just as the construction of a building or an infrastructure project requires initial research and a study phase before construction begins, followed by the architectural design of the building, network projects follow a similar process. Before the installation and implementation of a network, initial studies must be conducted to consider prerequisites and future requirements. Once these are addressed, a comprehensive and complete physical structure plan is created, and the project is then initiated.

Network design and mapping must be carried out according to network principles and standards. Adhering to these standards at this stage helps reduce implementation costs and minimizes the risk of future failures or issues, ultimately lowering the final costs. This step is of great importance, but unfortunately, many companies and their owners often overlook it. A superficial and short-sighted view of reducing costs in network projects can lead to companies incurring heavy financial and reputational costs due to poorly executed, non-standard, and incomplete projects in the future.
